Acacia Ridge Chardonnay
WINS SILVER 2008 LILYDALE WINE SHOW - The Acacia Ridge Chardonnay has flavours of ripe peach, nectarine and fig. This wine has been barrel fermented, producing layers of savory, toasty oak and creamy yeast complexity. It is rich and full with balanced acidity and excellent length of flavour.
Colour: Brilliant condition, mid straw green
Aroma: Subtle with complex ride fruit and integrated toasty/butternut notes
Palate: Soft and creamy texture
General: Clean, sound and well balanced
Acacia Ridge Shiraz
The 2006 Shiraz was hand picked, fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in a blend of new and older French Oak. Ripe spicy black plum and liquorice flavours combined with lush mouth coating tanins, provide a wonderful and truly elegant Yarra Valley Shiraz.
Colour: Bright, dark deep red purple
Aroma: Lifted, clean raspberry/cranberry fruit, spice and subtle oak
Palate: Clean sweet fruit with very fine tannin and good balance
General: A fresh and fruit dominant style with drive, classy
Acacia Ridge Cabernet Merlot
The 2005 Cabernet Merlot has been hand picked and warm fermented. The resultant wine was pressed and aged in both French and American Oak for 15 months prior to bottling. A rich plummy nose with a palate of red berry and dark plum, it displays hints of earthy chocolate and mocha coffee. Of medium intensity, this elegant wine has excellent structure and length.
Colour: Bright, dark deep red
Aroma: Rich, clean fruit, good betty character with subtle clean oak
Palate: Soft and clean with fine tannin, good acid and palate weight
Acacia Ridge Pinot Noir
WINS GOLD 2008 VICTORIAN WINE SHOW. This Pinor Noir from the excellent 2006 vintage was hand picked, fermented with indigenous yeasts and hand plunged very gently to allow the full fruit flavours maximum expression. After careful pressing, the wine was aged in French Oak (25% new). Bright black cherry and plum nose with a mouth filling suculent lingering palate.
